EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Lindsay Bowen scored the go-ahead
basket and became Michigan State's career scoring leader in her
final home game, finishing with 18 points in the No. 14 Spartans'
73-71 victory over Iowa on Thursday night.
Bowen also had a career-high nine rebounds, and freshman Aisha
Jefferson added 20 points to help the Spartans (20-7, 10-4 Big Ten)
win their sixth straight game.
Tiffany Reedy had 20 points, including six 3-pointers, for the
Hawkeyes (14-10, 7-6). Crystal Smith scored 19 points and Megan
Skouby added 17, but Wendy Ausdemore missed an open 3-pointer for
the win at the buzzer.
Victoria Lucas-Perry had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Michigan
State. Liz Shimek added 12 points in her final game at Breslin
Center, but missed the front end of a 1-and-1 that gave Iowa its
The Spartans had a 46-33 edge in rebounds and overcame a 30-6
deficit in points beyond the arc. Michigan State was 13-for-15 from
the line, including four straight points from Rene Haynes to
protect its lead.
