Dupree drops 24 as No. 22 Owls soar over Flyers

The Owls (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today; No. 23 AP) pulled away with a 20-4 run midway through the first
half, building a 43-25 halftime lead that would have held up even
if they hadn't scored in the second half.

The lead changed eight times early on as Dayton sank six of its
first eight 3-pointers.

But Temple (20-6, 11-3 Atlantic 10) dominated the Flyers down
low, outrebounding them 53-26 and outscoring them 34-10 in the

Kamesha Hairston added 10 points for the Owls, and Lady Comfort
grabbed 11 rebounds. Comfort also shut down Dayton forward Cara
Wright, who has a conference-leading 13 double doubles but went
scoreless on seven shots and had only two rebounds.

Dayton (16-9, 8-6) shot 27 percent and went to the foul line
just three times. Nikki Oakland scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting
off the bench to lead the Flyers, who also got 10 points from
Jennifer Strong.
