Montana 79, Eastern Wash. 54

MISSOULA (AP) -- Dana Conway scored 17 points to lead the Montana
women's basketball team to a 79-54 victory over Eastern Washington
Thursday night in Big Sky Conference play.

Montana (19-5 overall, 8-3 Big Sky) jumped out to a quick 16-3
lead and never trailed in its fifth-straight win.

Joining Conway in double figures were Jody McLeod with 15, Mandy
Morales with 13, and Katie Edwards and Sonya Rogers with 11 each.

Morales had her second double-double of the season, dishing out
a season-high 10 assists. She also matched a season-high with five
steals. McLeod grabbed eight, while Tamara Guardipee added seven.
Guardipee also added four blocked shots.

The Lady Griz led 40-22 at the half. Eastern Washington (10-14,
4-7) pulled within 16, 42-26, with 16:58 to play, but Montana
scored eight straight, and the Lady Griz lead remained at least 20
the rest of the way.

For EWU, Abby Johnson scored 10 points, Jamie Chicane had nine,
and Julie Page added seven.
