Lawrence leads Colonials' OT comeback over Owls

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored five of her 21 points in overtime to lead George Washington to a 55-50 win over No. 17 Temple on Friday night.

Kimberly Beck had 10 points for the Colonials (19-7, 12-3 Atlantic 10), who shot 33 percent from the field.

George Washington had a chance to win the game in regulation, but Lawrence missed a shot at the buzzer. The Colonials then scored the first six points in overtime.

Candice Dupree led Temple (20-7, 11-4) with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Khadija Bowens had 13 points. Kamesha Hairston finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Owls led by as many as 15 points in the first half and held a 25-14 advantage at halftime. George Washington's 14 first-half points matched a season low set on Dec. 7 against Tennessee. The Colonials shot 21 percent in the opening half.
