    CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- Casey Nash had 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting, and Oregon State cruised past Southern Utah 60-38 Saturday in the season opener for both teams.

    Erin McClean, with 10 points, was the only player in double figures for the Thunderbirds.

    Judie Lomax had 11 points and 14 rebounds for Oregon State (1-0). Jasmine Smith added 10 points and four rebounds.

    The Beavers outrebounded Southern Utah 39-26, and the Thunderbirds committed 18 turnovers.

    Nash scored at 4:45 in the first half to make it 24-13 for the Beavers and start an 8-0 run. It was 36-18 by halftime.

    Amy Anderson had nine points for Southern Utah (0-1). Forward Julie Stradling had six rebounds and three blocks.

    The Beavers shot 42.4 percent from the field but made just 2 of 12 three-pointers.

    Nash, the Beavers' lone senior starter, also had six rebounds and three assists.
