Baylor tops Hofstra to advance in Preseason WNIT

WACO, Texas (AP) -- Bernice Mosby scored 20 points, grabbed 17
rebounds and blocked three shots Sunday to lead Baylor (No. 18 ESPN/USA Today, No. 19 AP) to an
81-71 victory over Hofstra in the second round of the Preseason

Mosby, who sat out last season after transferring from Florida,
hit 7 of 13 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free throw line. She
had a double-double in the first half with 15 points and 12
rebounds as Baylor (2-0) jumped out to a 41-18 lead.

The Lady Bears led by as many as 29 points before Hofstra (1-1)
rallied behind Jeanell Hughes and Cigi McCollin to close within
77-69 with 28 seconds left. Hughes scored 10 of her 12 points in
the final eight minutes.

Vanessa Gidden led Hofstra with 20 points and McCollin added 15
and Lana Harshaw 11.

Angela Tisdale scored 16 points for Baylor, and Rachel Allison
and Danielle Wilson each scored 12.
