DePaul opens its tournament with victory over Yale

CHICAGO (AP) -- China Threatt scored 18 points to lead DePaul (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 23 AP) over Yale 86-60 Friday night in the semifinals of the Blue
Demon Invitational.

Allie Quigley had 12 points and seven rebounds and Jenna Rubino
added 12 points for DePaul (1-1), which will face Illinois State in
the final on Saturday.

Melissa Colborne scored 14 points and Erica Davis added 10
points and nine rebounds for Yale (0-2).

DePaul used its pressure defense to go on a 26-6 run early in
the second half and take a 66-44 lead with 8:34 left.

Yale was up 31-29 with 2:46 remaining in the first half until
Threatt scored six straight points to give the Blue Demons a 35-34
edge at halftime.

Yale had 27 turnovers, including 20 in the first half.
