Prince guides Scarlet Knights to first victory of season

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) -- Epiphanny Prince scored 29 points and Brittany Ray added 20 points to lead No. 14 Rutgers over Florida 88-71 on Saturday night and give the Scarlet Knights their first win of the season.

Kia Vaughn added 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Rutgers (1-2) .

Sha Brooks led Florida (1-3) with 24 points, while Depree Bowden added 18 points and eight rebounds.

Brooks put up three consecutive three-pointers to give the Gators the 40-37 halftime lead.

Rutgers responded by starting the second half with a 13-0 run and led by as many as 20 points. The Scarlet Knight shot 66.7 percent from the field in the second half.

The Gators shot 38.6 percent from the field for the game.
