    Vandy's balanced attack too much for Texas A&M-CC

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Caroline Williams had 18 points to lead five Commodores scoring in double figures and helped Vanderbilt (No. 15 ESPN/USA Today; No. 14 AP) to a 102-75 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday.

    Carla Thomas added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Commodores (4-0).

    Vanderbilt used a 23-6 run in the first half to pull away. Williams made two 3-pointers during the run and was 4-of-5 from long range for the game.

    The Commodores grabbed a 40-20 lead with 4:45 remaining in the half on a 3-pointer by Williams. The lead grew to 67-36 in the second half on two free throws by Thomas. Vanderbilt led by as much as 34 points.

    Amy Malo added 13 points for Vanderbilt, while Liz Sherwood added 12 points and Amber Norton had 10. The Commodores shot 60 percent from the field.

    Nicole Duncan led Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (0-3) with 23 points.
