Delaware beats Kentucky for first win over ranked team

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Tyresa Smith scored 28 points to lead Delaware to its first victory ever over a ranked opponent, an 86-70 win over Kentucky (No. 24 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) on Friday night in the first round of the Odwalla Classic.

Chrissy Fisher added 22 points for the Blue Hens (3-1), who shot 61.2 percent (30-of-49) from the field.

Sarah Elliott led Kentucky (2-2) with 26 points and 12 rebounds.

Delaware will play San Francisco in the title game.
