SEATTLE (AP) -- Andrea Plouffe had 23 points as Washington
advanced to the championship game of the Basketball Travelers
Classic with a 96-69 win over Saint Louis on Saturday.
Plouffe was 9-of-16 from the field for the Huskies (2-2), who
face Northern Iowa on Sunday. Cameo Hicks had 21 points and was
11-of-13 on free throws for Washington.
Theresa Lisch scored 20 points for the Billikens (5-1), who will
play the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks in the consolation game Sunday.
St. Louis used runs of 9 and 7 straight points in the second
half to keep the score within 4 at 57-53. But Washington then made
a 21-3 run to make it 78-56 midway through the second half.
Washington shot 44 percent and made 28 of its 36 free-throw
attempts. St. Louis shot 39 percent from the field.
St. Louis freshmen guards Lisch and Katie Paganelli, who had 12
points, each had six of the Billikens' 27 turnovers.
