EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Carolyn Ganes scored 18 points to lead
Oregon to a 50-44 win against Utah in the consolation game of the
Oregon Thanksgiving Tournament at McArthur Court on Saturday.
Ganes, a reserve post, scored 14 points and made all of her
career-high four 3-pointers in the second half as the Ducks (3-1)
rallied from a 25-17 halftime deficit.
Eleanor Haring added 14 points and a team-high six rebounds for
Oregon, which made just five field goals and shot 19 percent in the
first half, but came out in the second to make half of its 24
Joh-Teena Filipe led the Utes (1-4) with 13 points.
Haring scored the Ducks' first six points after the break to
spark a 25-6 run to open the half. Taylor Lilley made a jump shot
at the 12:05 mark to tie it 27-27, then back-to-back 3-pointers by
Ganes put Oregon up 33-29 with 9:33 to play.
Ganes' fourth 3-pointer of the half gave the Ducks their
greatest advantage, 42-31, with 6:33 left.
Utah would eventually cut Oregon's lead to 46-41 following a
pair of free throws by Morgan Warburton with only 1:31 to play, but
Haring answered with a driving bankshot to put the Ducks back up by
seven with 1:15 left.
