McCoughtry's double-double lifts Louisville past Xavier

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Angel McCoughtry had 12 points and 13 rebounds to help No. 19 Louisville beat Xavier 63-59 on Thursday night.

Brandie Radde added 12 points for Louisville (7-0), and Jazz Covington had 10. Louisville was 25-for-72 for almost 35 percent shooting and the Musketeers were 22-for-77 for nearly 29 percent.

Xavier (5-2) was within two points in the final minute, but two free throws from Patrika Barlow sealed the win for Louisville.

The Cardinals were up 33-27 at the half and led by 11 with just under 11 minutes remaining. Xavier went on a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to tie it at 52, with Suntana Granderson scoring two 3-pointers.

Amber Harris had 15 points and 12 rebounds for Xavier. Granderson hit three of the Musketeers' five 3-pointers, finishing with 13 points and four rebounds.

The Cardinals outrebounded the Musketeers 60-45, while Xavier shot 83 percent from the free throw line to Louisville's 70 percent.
