LSU tramples Detroit; forces 21 turnovers

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Sylvia Fowles scored 26 points and No.
11 LSU clamped down on Detroit in an 80-44 victory Saturday.

The Lady Tigers held Detroit to 29 percent shooting and forced
21 turnovers. The Lady Titans finished with just 16 field goals.

LSU put together 11-0 and 11-2 runs in the first half and led
36-13 at the break. Fowles had 17 points at intermission.

Quianna Chaney finished with 15 points for the Lady Tigers
(9-1), who shot 44 percent from the field. Fowles also had nine

Joyce Massey led Detroit (1-5) with 16 points, all coming in the
second half.

The Lady Tigers extended their lead to 61-19 with 12:44 to go,
courtesy of a 19-0 second-half run. The 42-point advantage was
LSU's largest of the game.
