Montana 71, Washington State 60

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) -- Mandy Morales scored a career-high 33 points Friday night to lead Montana past Washington State 71-60 in a nonconference game.

Sonya Rogers added 13 points for the Grizzlies (7-1).

Dani Montgomery led Washington State (2-6) with 11 points.

Morales went 11 for 19 from the field, including six for 12 on 3-pointers, and hit five of six free throws. She scored seven points during an early 11-0 run that gave Montana the lead for good, and also scored the last 11 points in a 12-0 run that pushed Montana ahead 49-34 with 12:40 left in the game.

Morales, a sophomore guard, leads Montana with 19.6 points per game. She set career highs for field goals made and attempted and tied her career high for 3-pointers.

Morales has averaged 28.3 points during Montana's four-game winning streak.

Washington State outrebounded the Grizzlies 53-30. However, Montana had far better shooting percentages than WSU from the field (43 percent to 31 percent), from 3-point range (48 percent to 33 percent) and from the free-throw line (75 percent to 55 percent).
