BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) -- Erica Perry scored five consecutive points
to break a 68-all tie with just over two minutes to play Thursday,
helping Montana State to a 77-71 win over Montana-Western.
It was the first time since late February 2005 that the MSU
women's basketball team has posted back-to-back wins. The game was
an exhibition for Montana Western (14-0), ranked No. 4 in the NAIA.Montana State (5-4) built its largest lead at 61-48 with 7:49
left on a 3-pointer by Alyssa Nelson. However, the Bulldogs used a
20-7 run to tie the score.Perry, a freshman, hit a 3-pointer from the left wing and then a
pair of free throws with 1:30 left to give the Bobcats a cushion.Rebecca Mercer led the Bobcats with 18 points, while Perry added
15 and Whitney Connolly 11.Nubia Garcia and Krislyn Wallace each had 11 rebounds for MSU,
which held a 48-38 rebounding advantage.Becky O'Neil led Western with 27 points and 11 rebounds, while
Katherine Sunwall had 12 points and 13 rebounds.
