SEATTLE (AP) -- Cameo Hicks scored 17 points Friday night to help Washington beat cross-state rival Gonzaga 75-61 in a nonconference game.Washington (6-4) moved to 5-0 at home this year before Sunday's home test against Florida State.Hicks, who was 7-of-12, scored 10 or more points for the ninth time in 10 games.Emily Florence had a career-high five steals, six rebounds, six points and three assists for the Huskies.Michelle Elliot had 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting for the Bulldogs (7-6). Heather Bowman, a 6-foot-2 freshman coming off a 32-point outing, had 12 points, including 10 in the first half, and 11 rebounds.Washington's matchup zone defense was so stifling that Gonzaga only shot 39 percent and the Huskies had several transition baskets off their 14 steals.Gonzaga, which outrebounded Washington by four, 39-35, committed turnovers on four consecutive possessions twice in the first half and had 20 for the game. Washington had 12 turnovers.Washington jumped out to a 30-13 lead after making 12 of its first 19 shots.The Huskies' shooting later turned cold, with Washington going without a field goal in the final 7:05 of the first half as Gonzaga went on a 13-6 run.Washington led 36-26 at halftime.The Huskies found their offensive groove once more in the second half and opened up a 42-30 lead. Hicks' wide-open 3-pointer gave Washington a 15-point margin at 48-33, with 15.17 left in the game.The Bulldogs scored on four consecutive possessions to cut the deficit to nine, at 64-55, before the Huskies went on a 7-0 run to seal the win with four minutes left.
