Utah 66, Montana State 63

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Joh-Teena Filipe scored a career-high 24
points as the University of Utah women's basketball team defeated
Montana State 66-63 on Monday night.

Morgan Warburton added 14 points for Utah (6-5), which led 25-19
at halftime. She and Filipe were the only Utah players in double
figures.

Montana State (5-5) opened a 10-7 advantage midway through the
first half.

With Utah trailing 19-17 late in the half, Filipe took over in
the paint, scoring six straight points to give the Utes a 23-19
advantage.

A pair of free throws from Hennasea Tokumura gave the Utes a
six-point halftime lead.

Montana State's Brandie Buckless pulled the Bobcats within 38-35
with a 3-pointer with 13:27 left in the game. The Utes answered
with a 9-2 run, sparked by four points from Filipe. That spurt gave
Utah its biggest lead of the night, 47-37.

Whitney Connolly led Montana State with 18 points. Alyssa Nelson
added 14 for the Bobcats.
