COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Takia Starks and Adrian McGowen
both scored 13 points to lead Texas A&M (No 19 ESPN/USA Today; No. 18 AP) to a 70-43 victory
over Delaware State on Wednesday night.
The Aggies (8-2) led 39-11 at halftime, holding Delaware State
to three field goals and 12 percent shooting in the opening 20
minutes. Four minutes into the second half, Texas A&M led by 33
points, its largest lead of the game.
Katrina Limbaha had 12 points and five rebounds for the Aggies,
while Danielle Gant added 11 points, seven assists, six rebounds
and four steals. La Toya Micheaux of Texas A&M led both teams with
nine rebounds and three blocks.
Ashlee Burbage led Delaware State (4-5) with 17 points, while
Raquel Collier added 13.
The Aggies outscored the Hornets 38-16 in the paint and 25-13
off turnovers. Texas A&M finished with a 46-31 rebound advantage.
