COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Iva Sliskovic recorded South Carolina's first triple-double since 2003 in leading the Gamecocks to an 87-49 victory over High Point on Wednesday night.
Sliskovic posted 18 points -- a season-high -- 15 rebounds and 10 assists, a career-high. Melanie Johnson recorded 17 points and seven rebounds for the Gamecocks (6-4), followed by Lauren Simms with 12 points, and Ilona Burgrova with 11. It was Burgrova's first start of the season.
High Point (5-5) used 3-pointers to keep the game close in the opening minutes before the Gamecocks used a 16-0 run lasting 3:12 to give the Gamecocks a 24-6 lead. South Carolina led 47-21 at the half.
The Gamecocks' lead never went below 26 points in the final stanza and increased to as many as 39 points.
The Gamecocks out-rebounded the Panthers 62-33 in the game. South Carolina also picked 10 steals.
