AUSTIN (AP) -- Tiffany Jackson scored a career-high 33 points and
had a season-best 14 rebounds as Texas beat Texas A&M-Corpus
Christi 73-68 on Thursday night.
Jackson's dominating performance helped Texas (8-3) hold off the
pesky Islanders and break a two-game losing streak.
Texas led 29-24 at halftime. But Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4-6)
kept the game close in the second half behind leading scorer Nicole
Duncan's 19 points. Duncan hit 3-of-6 3-pointers for the game, and
contributed seven points in the last two minutes.
Jackson hit 12-of-22 field goals and 9-of-11 free throws. Erika
Arriaran added 12 for Texas, including 2-of-3 3-pointers.
The Islanders' Elisa Beagle scored 17, including 8-of-9 field
goal shooting, and had 13 rebounds. Kirbria Lewis added 15 points
and Jillianne Duffey added 10.
