TCU upsets No. 17 DePaul at San Juan Shootout

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico (AP) -- Ashley Davis scored 23 points, Adrienne Ross made two free throws in the final seconds and TCU beat No. 17 DePaul in the San Juan Shootout 74-73 on Thursday night.

Ross, who scored all 14 of her points in the second half, was fouled with four seconds remaining and converted both free throws to end a 10-game win streak for the Blue Demons (10-2).

After trailing for most of the second half, DePaul rallied with an 8-0 run and took a 73-72 lead on 3-pointer by Jenna Rubino with ten seconds remaining. A foul by Allie Quigley put Ross on the free-throw line.

DePaul led the entire first half, going up 32-21 with 5:42 to play on a jumpshot by China Threatt, who finished with 10 points. They led 38-36 at halftime.

Davis, who shot 5 of 7 from behind the 3-point line, also grabbed five rebounds for TCU (8-4). Hanna Biernacka added 19 points.

Rubino led four Blue Demons in double figures with 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Caprice Smith added 14 points with four assists.
