EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Eleanor Haring scored a game high 20 points
to lead Oregon to a 66-55 victory against Washington State on
Haring scored 10 straight points for Oregon (8-3 overall, 1-1
Pac-10) early in the first half, but played only 11 minutes in the
opening half because of foul trouble. Oregon's Tamika Nurse scored
a season high 13 points and Carolyn Ganes added 12 -- 10 in the
second half. Jessie Shetters netted 11 points with nine rebounds
for the Ducks.
Marisa Stotler led the Cougars (5-7, 1-1) with 14 points,
followed by Amanda DuRocher with 12.
After an Ebonee Coates' free throw tied the score at 27 early in
the second half, Haring scored three points to lead Oregon on an
8-0 run. The Ducks also used an 11-4 run late in the game to hold a
60-50 lead with 1:38 remaining.
Oregon, which made 18 of 27 free throws for the game, connected
on 6 of 8 free-throw attempts to close the game. Nurse led the
Ducks with 10 of 12 attempts at the charity strip.
The game was tied eight times with three lead changes.
