Bowling Green puts halt to Delaware's 9-game win streak

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Liz Honegger scored 24 points to lead Bowling Green (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today, No. 25 AP) to a 70-59 victory over Delaware on Friday night that snapped the Hens' nine-game winning streak.

With Bowling Green trailing 40-37 early in the second half, Honegger made a layup with 11:13 left to spark a 23-3 run and put the Falcons ahead for good.

Ali Mann had 18 points and Amber Flynn added 12 for Bowling Green (9-2), which has won two straight.

Chrissy Fisher led Delaware (10-2) with 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Tyresa Smith added 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Hens shot 41 percent from the floor and committed 19 turnovers, which led to 19 points for the Falcons, which shot 57 percent for the game.

Delaware's only other loss was a 68-60 defeat Nov. 14 at Boston College.
