Shooting, rebounding advantage lifts No. 12 Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Dee Davis scored 18 points to lead No. 12 Vanderbilt to an 89-74 win over Princeton on Saturday.

Carla Thomas added 14 points and Liz Sherwood had 12 for the Commodores (12-1), who shot 58 percent en route to a 53-35 lead at halftime.

Meagan Cowher, daughter of Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher, scored 21 points to lead Princeton (5-8), which shot 42 percent for the game. Casey Lockwood added 11 points.

Davis shot 5-of-10 from the field and added five rebounds and five assists.

Vanderbilt outrebounded Princeton 48-35. The Tigers are 1-8 when grabbing fewer rebounds than their opponents.

The Commodores are averaging 90.8 points in their wins.
