SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Heather Bowman scored 13 points and
grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Gonzaga women's basketball team to
a 81-53 victory over Montana State on Saturday.
Montana State (5-7) got off to a slow start, trailing Gonzaga
(8-8) 21-4 at the halfway point of the opening period following a
Maria Hassett layup.MSU cut the margin to 33-23 with 2:39 remaining on a Nubia
Garcia free throw. The Bulldogs held a 39-27 margin at halftime.In the second half, Gonzaga built a 45-28 advantage before the
Bobcats went on a 12-6 run to cut the deficit to 51-41 with 11:01
left on a Garcia free throw. MSU would get no closer.The Bobcats were paced by Garcia and Alyssa Nelson with 12 and
10 points, respectively.For the game, MSU shot 33 percent from the field and converted
14-of-25 free throw attempts. Gonzaga hit for 48 percent from the
field and went 17-of-20 from the free-throw line.
