TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Cameo Hicks scored 18 points as Washington
beat Arizona 83-66 Thursday night for its ninth consecutive
Hicks scored at least 17 points for the seventh straight game as
the Huskies (12-4) went to 5-0 for the first time in Pac-10 play
since the 1987-88 season.
After Arizona (6-10, 0-4) cut a 16-point deficit to six with
8:17 to play, Hicks had consecutive driving lay-ins and Dominique
Banks added a put-back to give Washington a 66-54 lead with 5:27
Andrea Plouffe, who had 12 points, hit a three-pointer with 2:50
left to make it 75-62 and secure the Huskies' victory.
Joy Hollingsworth had a career-high 31 points for the Wildcats,
who lost for the seventh time in eight games. They are off to their
worst Pac-10 start in 15 years.
