MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Sophomore guards Mandy Morales and Sonya Rogers combined to score 58 points Thursday in Montana's 85-67 victory over Portland State in the Big Sky Conference opener for both teams.

Morales had 31 points, nine rebounds and eight assists -- her fourth game this season with at least 30 points. Rogers added a career-high 27 points, including a 5-of-7 effort from 3-point range as Montana (13-1, 1-0 Big Sky) won its 10th consecutive game.

Portland State (4-10, 0-1) led 19-18 midway through the tight first half, but sophomore Tamara Guardipee scored inside for the Lady Griz and Rogers hit a 3-pointer to push the lead to 23-19.

Montana extended its lead to 44-30 by halftime. Rogers and Morales scored 33 of UM's 44 first-half points.

The Lady Griz opened the second half on a 7-2 run to take a 51-32 lead with 17:37 to play, but the Vikings answered with an 11-2 run over the next 3:26 to pull within 53-43 on an inside basket by Claire Faucher.

Montana went on a 15-2 run -- including seven points by Morales, a steal and a layup by Laura Cote and 3-pointers by Rogers and Britney Lohman -- to take a 68-45 lead. Portland State could get no closer than 14 points the rest of the way.

Guardipee finished with 14 points and a career-high 14 rebounds for Montana.
