Givens scores 25 second-half points in 34-point win

MIAMI (AP) -- Chrissy Givens scored a season-high 32 points to lead No. 21 Middle Tennessee past Florida International in an 86-52 win Tuesday.

Middle Tennessee (13-3, 5-0 Sun Belt Conference) led 38-22 at the half and hit 19 of its first 25 shots after intermission. The team took a 40-point lead at 84-44 with less than five minutes left in the game.

Givens took over in the second half, scoring 25 of her 32 points, including 12 of the first 17. The senior drove the lane continually in the second half, making lay-ups and short jumpers.

Amber Holt scored 19 points for Middle Tennessee, and Brandi Brown had 16.

LaQuetta Ferguson scored 16 points for Florida International (9-6, 3-2).
