Givens lifts Middle Tennessee State over Arkansas State

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Chrissy Givens scored 27 points to lead No. 20 Middle Tennessee State to its 13th consecutive victory, an 82-54 win over Arkansas State on Thursday night.

Amber Holt added 19 points for the Lady Raiders (16-3, 7-0 Sun Belt Conference) and freshman Brandi Brown came off the bench to score 12 points, all on 3-pointers.

Adrianne Davie led the Indians (13-6, 7-2) with 16 points.

Middle Tennessee, ranked in the Associated Press poll for the first time in school history last week, led 39-32 at halftime, and blew the game open in the second half.

The Lady Raiders led by as many as 30 points with 1:50 to play. They dominated defensively with 20 steals and forced 37 Arkansas State turnovers.
