Freshman Greif scores 19, leads No. 22 Cal's rally

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -- Freshman guard Lauren Greif scored 19 points to lead California (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today; No. 21 AP) to a 65-56 victory over Oregon that gave Bears coach Joanne Boyle her 100th career win Saturday.

The Bears (15-4, 6-3 Pac-10) won their fifth straight and are off to their best start in 15 seasons.

Carolyn Ganes and Tamika Nurse scored 14 points apiece for Oregon (10-8, 2-6).

The Ducks trailed 29-24 at half, but Ganes converted an offensive rebound with 14:51 remaining to tie the score at 34.

Greif, Boyle's first recruit at Cal, then made the first of two straight 3-pointers to snap the tie with 13:06 to go. Greif finished 4-of-9 from 3-point range in her best performance of the season.
