AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Jennifer Humprey had 16 points and 20 rebounds in Kentucky's 68-65 victory over Auburn on Sunday.
Down by as many as 13 points in the first half, Auburn (15-6, 2-3 Southeastern Conference) went on a 17-7 run to take its first lead of the game, but Kentucky (14-6, 3-2 SEC) held.
DeWanna Bonner scored 23 points for the Tigers. Whitney Boddie added 19 and Sherell Hobbs had 10.
After Kentucky took a 63-60 lead, Bonner and Hobbs both missed jumpers with less than a minute remaining and Kentucky's Sarah Elliot came away with the ball, forcing Auburn to foul.
Kentucky's Alcius Nastassia nailed two free throws to make the Kentucky lead five. Boddie penetrated on Auburn's ensuing possession and was fouled, but her shot rolled off the rim to prevent the 3-point play. She hit both foul shots to make it 65-62.
Jenny Pfeifer went to the line for Auburn on a one-and-one, but couldn't grab the rebound when she missed on the front end. Humphrey then converted the put-back to make Kentucky's lead five.
Bonner scored a long-distance three on Auburn's next possession with only six seconds remaining in the game, but after Nastassia missed the back of a one-and-one, Hobbs' attempt from half court bounced off the backboard.
Kentucky led 31-24 at halftime.
