    Griffin's 24 points pace Cornhuskers past Jayhawks

    LINCOLN, Neb. -- Kelsey Griffin scored 24 points to help No. 25 Nebraska beat Kansas 78-58 on Saturday night.

    Nebraska (17-4, 5-2 Big 12) opened the second half with a 22-6 run to break a tie and put the game away. The Lady Cornhuskers scored on seven of their first nine possessions of the second half to go up 54-43 on Ashley Ford's layup with 14:51 remaining.

    After a Jayhawk basket, the Husker run continued, with Griffin's free throw giving Nebraska a 61-45 lead with 10:57 left.

    Danielle Page added a career-high 17 points to lead the Cornhuskers.

    Kansas (6-14, 0-7) struggled to score in the second half, making just four of its first 17 shots after hitting 54 percent (14-for-26) of its first-half attempts to tie Nebraska at 39 at the break.

    Nebraska took its biggest lead of the game when Kiera Hardy's free throws made the score 71-49 with 7:34 remaining.

    Shaquina Mosley led Kansas with 18 points. Taylor McIntosh added 16 points for Kansas and Danielle McCray had 12.
