MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Chrissy Givens scored 16 points to lead Middle Tennessee (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) to a school-record 17th straight win, an 82-58 victory over Denver on Wednesday night.

Five players scored in double figures for the Blue Raiders (20-3, 12-0 Sun Belt Conference), who last lost at then-No. 4 Tennessee on Nov. 24.

Brandi Brown added 15 points for Middle Tennessee. Amber Holt had 13, Starr Orr 11 and Jackie Pickel 10.

Alisha Godette led Denver (12-9, 7-5) with 15 points.

The Pioneers started the game hot, taking a 12-7 lead, but Middle Tennessee hit four 3-pointers to erase the deficit and take a 20-14 lead. The Blue Raiders held the Pioneers to two field goals in the final eight minutes of the half to take a 37-23 advantage.

The Blue Raiders started the second half with a 13-4 spurt to seal the win.

Middle Tennessee, the top 3-point shooting team in the Sun Belt Conference, connected on 10-of-28 from long range.

Middle Tennessee's winning streak is the third-longest active streak in the country behind No. 2 North Carolina (23) and No. 1 Duke (22). Stanford (No. 9 ESPN/USA Today, No. 8 AP) has won 16 games in a row.
