No. 16 Bowling Green rallies from behind, downs Toledo

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Liz Honegger scored 20 points and Bowling Green (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today; No. 17 AP) rallied in the final minutes to beat Toledo 73-62 Sunday.

Toledo led 38-35 at halftime and Bowling Green didn't go ahead until midway through the second half on a foul shot by Kate Achter that made it 51-50. Neither team could take more than a two-point lead until Ali Mann made a layup and foul shot with 5:06 remaining to begin the 15-4 run that rallied the Falcons.

Mann scored 10 points during the run and finished with 18 points and six rebounds for Bowling Green (20-2, 9-0 Mid-American Conference), which has won 13 straight overall and 27 consecutive at home. Achter added 15 points, including 11 of 14 free throw attempts, and seven assists.

Danielle Bishop had 19 points for Toledo (7-14, 3-6), which led 16-6 with 12:44 remaining in the first half. Savannah Werner added 16 points, Diana Reindl had 15 and Allie Clifton had seven rebounds. The Rockets outrebounded the Falcons, 30-27.

Toledo led by as many as 15 before the Falcons started a 12-6 run with 4:18 left to cut the deficit to 38-35 at the break.

The Falcons shot about 41 percent (11-of-27) in the first half, when Toledo hit 59 percent (17-of-29).

Bowling Green scored 37 points off 21 Toledo turnovers.
