TUCSON, Ariz. -- Joy Hollingsworth scored 20 points as Arizona rallied to beat Oregon State 65-61 Thursday night and give coach Joan Bonvicini her 600th career victory.
Bonvicini, in her 27th year, has a 600-270 record which makes her the 18th winningest all-time coach in NCAA women's basketball.Hollingsworth had a lay-in and Amina Njonkou connected from down low to give Arizona (9-17, 3-11 Pac-10) its biggest lead at 63-57 with 1:33 remaining.Casey Nash led Oregon State (8-14, 3-10) with 15 points, while Judie Lomax and Mercedes Fox-Griffin added 14 points apiece.The visiting Beavers led 34-30 at halftime after making 60 percent of their field goals. They were up 42-38 with 11:08 remaining before Arizona rallied.Ashley Whisonant, who had 15 points, hit a clutch three-pointer with 4:18 left to put the Wildcats ahead to stay at 57-54.
