Triggs fuels Old Dominion past No. 25 James Madison

NORFOLK, Va. -- Sherida Triggs scored 15 points to help Old Dominion beat James Madison (No. 25 ESPN/USA Today; No. 22 AP) 62-57 Sunday.

Tamara Ransburg scored 11 points for the Monarchs (19-8, 14-1 Colonial Athletic Association), who pulled into the lead early.

The Dukes (24-4, 15-2) played catchup and tied the Monarchs seven times, but trailed 31-28 at the half.

James Madison pulled ahead halfway through the second, with Tamera Young scoring a handful of baskets to give the Dukes a 50-46 lead.

Shantel Wilson and T.J. Jordan each added 9 points to restore the Monarchs' lead. The Dukes never came from behind.

The Dukes' Meredith Alexis scored 12 points. Young, Shirley McCall and Andrea Benvenuto all scored 11 points.
