Givens leads Middle Tennessee over South Alabama

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Chrissy Givens scored 24 points to lead No. 17 Middle Tennessee to a 79-52 win over South Alabama in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference tournament on Saturday.

The top-seeded Blue Raiders (27-3) led by as many as 40 in the second half on their way to advancing to Monday's semifinals. They will face the winner of Saturday's Denver-Arkansas-Little Rock game.

Before South Alabama (14-16) even attempted a field goal in the game's opening 2 minutes, Middle Tennessee had forced four turnovers.

The Blue Raiders wound up scoring 42 points off of 25 South Alabama turnovers.

Whitney Woodard led South Alabama with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
