BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -- Ashley Walker had 25 points and 10 rebounds, leading California (No. 13 ESPN/USA Today, No. 12 AP) to a 75-54 victory over Loyola Marymount on Wednesday.
Walker had her fifth double-double in six games, and also had four assists, three blocks and two steals.
Freshman Kelsey Adrian had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Bears (5-1) and Alexis Gray-Lawson added 13 points.
Kavita Goss scored a career-high 12 points to lead the Lions (4-3), and Jenna Sybesma had 10.
Thanks to Walker, Cal dominated the game in the paint, outscoring LMU 40-18 inside and outrebounding the Lions 45-26.
California led from tip to horn, and after jumping out to a 6-0 lead, never allowed LMU to get closer than three.
Walker had 14 points and five rebounds in the first 20 minutes, despite missing time with foul trouble, and scored 10 straight points for the Bears during one stretch.
The game started at 11:30 a.m. because Cal expected its women's volleyball team to be hosting an NCAA game in the evening -- and that took priority over the basketball game. However, the Bears didn't get to host a volleyball playoff, but by the time the NCAA brackets were announced, travel arrangements had been made and the morning start was retained.
