Noe, ASU bury Gonzaga with 13-0 run in first half

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Jill Noe had 16 points, five assists and five rebounds to lead Arizona State (No. 15 ESPN/USA Today, No. 14 AP) past Gonzaga 78-60 Friday night in the first round of the ASU Classic.

Noe hit three 3-pointers, including one during a 13-0 run in the first half that gave Arizona State a 15-point lead. The Sun Devils (4-2) used a 10-0 spurt, started and ended by Noe, to build a 61-42 lead with 12:45 left.

Heather Bowman scored 20 points, all in the second half, and grabbed 11 rebounds for Gonzaga (4-2). The Bulldogs missed 19 of their first 27 shots in falling behind early.

Tennessee transfer Sybil Dosty had a career-high 16 points and added nine rebounds for the Sun Devils, who committed nine turnovers in the first 12 minutes but hit five straight 3-pointers to stretch its lead.

Lauren Lacey, a transfer from Minnesota, added 13 points and five rebounds.

Arizona State will face Auburn (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 18 AP) in the championship game.
