Mountaineers use inside play to trounce St. Bonaventure

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) -- LaQuita Owens scored 20 points to lead West Virginia (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) to a 64-37 victory over St. Bonaventure on Saturday.

Owens had 14 points by halftime for West Virginia (6-1), and senior forward Chakhia Cole added 10 points and nine rebounds. Meg Bulger had nine points and Olayinka Sanni finished with eight.

Dana Mitchell had a game-high 22 points for St. Bonaventure (5-2), which trailed 35-16 by halftime.

The Mountaineers wore down the Bonnies with their strong inside presence and aggressive play under the boards.

Owens helped West Virginia build on its commanding lead during the first 10 minutes of the second half, scoring 10 of the Mountaineers' 14 points during a run that made it 51-24.
