Jordan dumps in 24 as Old Dominion topples No. 19 Michigan State

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- T.J. Jordan scored 24 and the Lady Monarchs handed Michigan State (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) its second loss of the season, defeating the Spartans 79-73 Sunday.

The Spartans (6-2) overtook Old Dominion early on, with a three-pointer by Alisa Wulff and a jumper by Kalisha Keane helping secure an 11-point lead. Jordan added a pair of 3-pointers to help the Lady Monarchs (6-2) recoup, and a layup from Tiffany Green with 2:54 on the clock tied the score 27-27.

Jordan sank another 3-pointer to pull Old Dominion ahead and the Lady Monarchs led 35-31 at the half.

The Spartans whittled down Old Dominion's lead and Courtney Davidson added three to bring Michigan State within four points with less than 30 seconds on the clock.

Jazzmin Walters sank two free throws and the Spartans couldn't recover.

Green had 20 points.

Davidson had 17 for the Spartans.
