St. Joseph's comes up short against No. 22 Wyoming

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Aubrey Vandiver scored 20 points and Jodi
Bolerjack added 17 to lead Wyoming (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) to a 66-64 win over St.
Joseph's on Saturday in the first round of the Hawkeye Challenge.

St. Joseph stormed out to a 35-25 halftime lead behind 14 points
from Amy Gillespie, who had a career high and tied a team
season-high with 20 points.

St. Joseph's (5-4) improved its lead to 40-27 at 3:00 into the
second half, but Vandiver made the go-ahead layup off a mid-court
steal at the 4:30 mark to give the Cowgirls (7-1) their first lead
at 55-53.

St. Joseph's fell behind, but came back to within two points off a
banked 3-pointer by Jenna Loschiavo with 8.2 seconds left but
could get no closer.

Timisha Gomez came up short for St. Joseph's with a 75-footer at
the buzzer.

Wyoming advances to play Iowa in the championship game of the
Challenge on Sunday, while St. Joseph's takes on Northern Illinois
in the consolation game.
