IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Aubrey Vandiver and Justyna Podziemska each scored 14 points to lead Wyoming (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) to a 54-50 win over Iowa on Sunday in the championship game of the Hawkeye Challenge.
Wyoming (8-1) led 28-18 at the break, but Iowa's Kristi Smith sparked a 13-1 run with consecutive driving layups -- the second part of a three-point play -- to put the Hawkeye's up 47-43 with 4:03 left in the game.
Wyoming retook the lead for good, 48-47, on Vandiver's 3-pointer from the right corner with 2:26 remaining.
Wyoming's Hanna Zavecz blocked Smith's attempt at the other end and saved possession while falling out of bounds to give the Cowgirls the ball back. With 1:03 left, Vandiver converted a reverse layup with the shot clock about to expire to extend the lead to 50-47.
Wyoming never looked back.
Megan Skouby led Iowa (6-4) with 15 points.
Wyoming didn't allow a point off the fast break, and the 18 points allowed in the first half tied Iowa's lowest-scoring first half at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Wyoming's 54 points were a season-low.
