DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Chante Black and Joy Cheek each scored 19 points and Duke (No. 15 ESPN/USA Today, No. 14 AP) routed Bucknell 92-49 on Friday night.
Abby Waner added 16 points, Jasmine Thomas had 12 and Wanisha Smith 11 for Duke (9-3). No Blue Devils starter played more than 27 minutes.Kesha Champion led Bucknell (4-7) with 21 points. She shot 7-for-11 from the field, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range.Duke led 53-31 by halftime, the most points by the Blue Devils in any first half this season. Waner hit three 3-pointers and had 13 points by halftime. Chante Black had 11.The Bison managed a single 3-point basket by Champion in the first 16:26 of the second half, while Duke used a 10-3 run to stretch its lead to 63-34. Bucknell missed its last six shots and failed to score in the game's final 6:09.Duke pressured Bucknell into 19 first-half turnovers and 32 by game's end. The Bison turned over seven straight possessions during a stretch midway through the first half while Duke reeled off a 14-0 run.The Blue Devils, who averaged 66.3 points before Friday night, opened the game with an 8-2 run and scored the game's last 11 points.Duke held Bucknell to 20-for-52 shooting and outrebounded the Bison 57-32. Cheek and Black each had eight rebounds.Duke scored 40 points off turnovers and had 27 second-chance points.
