GW sends Pepperdine to fourth straight loss

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Jessica Adair scored 25 points to lead George Washington (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) past Pepperdine 82-68 on Sunday.

Sarah-Jo Lawrence added 14 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Colonials (10-3). Jessica Ross scored 17 points for the Waves, who have lost four games straight.

George Washington shot 5-for-8 from 3-point range en route to a 47-34 halftime lead.

The Waves (5-6) had a 12-3 run in the second half and cut their deficit to 50-46 on Daphanie Kennedy's three-point play. Pepperdine got no closer as George Washington responded with an 8-1 run.

Pepperdine relied heavily on outside shooting, but went only 8-for-22 from 3-point range.
