NORMAL, Ill. (AP) -- Kelsey Woodard scored 20 points to help Creighton edge No. 24 Illinois State 75-71 on Saturday.
Sara Cain, Kristina Voss and Ally Thrall chipped in 10 points apiece for the Bluejays (13-5, 6-3 Missouri Valley).
The Redbirds (18-2, 8-1) saw their 14-game winning streak come to an end. They had entered the poll this week for the first time in 19 years and beat Drake on Thursday in their first game as a ranked team since Dec. 5, 1988.
On Saturday, Illinois State struggled against Creighton. Trailing by two at the half, Creighton surged ahead in the second half leading by as many as 10 points with 4:39 left before holding on for the victory.
Maggie Krick hit 3-of-3 free throws and led the Redbirds with 17 points. Ashleen Bracey added 12 points and a team-high six rebounds for Illinois State. Shala Jackson added another 12 on 5-of-7 shooting.
