RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored 15 of her 19 points in the second half and No. 15 George Washington beat Richmond 75-59 on Wednesday night.
The Colonials (23-5, 11-2 Atlantic 10) led 42-36 in the second half before Brittani Shells' 3-pointer and two free throws by Katie Holzer pulled the Spiders to 42-41 with 14:52 to go.George Washington responded with a 14-0 run to seal the win. Kimberly Beck hit a 3-pointer, Lawrence added a pair of free throws and a jumper, Whitney Allen had two baskets and Antelia Parrish hit a 3-pointer.Richmond (13-15, 6-7) never got closer than 11 again.Jessica Adair scored 14 of her 17 points in the first half for the Colonials, and Allen finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Beck and Parrish each scored nine.Shells and Johanna McKnight scored 17 each for the Spiders.
