BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Jerii Taylor scored 15 points and Tudy Reed added 13, including a 3-pointer with 1:52 left that gave No. 22 Xavier the lead for good, in a 62-59 win over Indiana on Sunday.
Indiana jumped out to a 23-10 in the first half, but Xavier (2-0) narrowed the gap to six at halftime and took its first lead early in the second. The teams tied for the seventh and last time when a layup by Xavier's Ta'Shia Phillips made it 57-all.Reed hit her 3-pointer about a minute later. Kim Roberson followed with a layup to bring the Hoosiers to within one, but Indiana couldn't score again.Phillips had 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Special Jennings added 11 points for Xavier.Jori Davis scored 13 points to lead Indiana (1-1). Whitney Thomas and Amber Jackson each had 12 points.
