COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Jantel Lavender scored 24 of her game-high 28 points in the first half to lead Ohio State (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 18 AP) to a 92-58 victory over Army on Sunday.
Star Allen added 14 points and Ashlee Trebilcock had 11 for Ohio State (2-0).
Erin Anthony scored 14 and Alex McGuire added 12 for the Black Knights (0-2).
Freshman guard Samantha Prahalis had nine points, seven assists and three steals for the Buckeyes despite picking up her fourth foul with 16:21 remaining in the game. Ohio State then scored 16 straight points for a 65-37 lead with Allen scoring half of the points.
Lavender was nearly unstoppable in the first half when the Buckeyes led 45-32. She was 9-for-10 from the field and hit six of seven free throws.
